Frank Howard Alexander, 87, of Concord, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Frank was born December 16, 1937 in El Paso, Texas, to the late Frank Owings Alexander, MD and the late Vance Thompson Alexander, MD. He was also preceded in death by brother, John (Jackie) Macfie Alexander, MD; and nephew, John Lee Alexander.
Frank was affectionately known as Mr. A, Skip, and Pip. He was a graduate of Duke University and received his Master's Degree from Columbia University in New York City. He retired after 30 years of teaching math and science at Concord High School and Concord Middle School. Mr. A was known for his antics in and out of the classroom and his rare sense of humor will always be remembered. Alongside teaching, Frank ran a tree service with Ray Eudy of Concord. Frank was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, canoeing, and hiking. Over the years, he would take many students on outdoor trips. If ever a word was misspoken, Frank was the first to correct one's grammar. He was also known for being humble and generous to anyone in need. Most of all, Skip dearly loved his family and his Dobermans.
