Hartsell Funeral Home Concord (704) 786 1161 PO Box 367 Concord, NC 28026 Mr. Frank Vernon York, 74, of 120 Brown Street, Concord, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Salisbury, NC. Born on February 20, 1936 in Wilkes County to the Alma Lowe York Gardner and the late Haskel York. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord on Friday from 6 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis, on Saturday at 2:00 pm with the Dr. RJ Hammond officiating. There will be a 30 minute state prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The meeting place will be the home at 120 Brown Street, Concord. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Ruth York and his father Haskel York. He is survived by: mother, Alma Lowe York Gardner, of Concord; daughter, Joyce Cartrett and husband Jay, of Sumter, SC; sisters, Frances McLemore, of Concord, Sarah Tucker, of Monroe, Kathryn McFarland, of Irmo, SC, Carolyn Capps, of Asheboro, Wanda Russ, of Mt. Pleasant, Maxine Measimer, of Concord, Grace Asbury, of Monroe; brother, Jimmy Gardner, of Alphretta, GA; grandsons, Bobby York and Alan Cartrett; great grandchildren, Madison York, Lindsay York, and Jacob Cartrett. Frank was the owner/operator of Mobile Auto Crushers, Concord and was a member of Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis. Hartsell Funeral Home Concord is serving the York family.
