Franklin Hargett

Franklin Eugene "Gene" Hargett, 76, of 1650 Mt. Pleasant Road West in Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. Born on February 8, 1934 in Cabarrus County to the late Evans Geoffrey Hargett, Sr. and the late Rosa Gertrude Layton Hargett. Also preceded in death by his wife Addie Sue Dunlap Hargett, brothers Wade and Richard "Shake’ Hargett, sisters Eunice Berlie Boyd and Mary Ellen Hamilton. Mr. Hargett was an Auto Mechanic with B&B Auto Parts in Charlotte, and was a member of Open Arms Ministry in Concord. Gene loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars. The family meeting place will be the home. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM. Burial will be at a later date at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Survived by: sons, Frankie Hargett of Concord, Terry Hargett of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Belinda H. Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Evans "Ebb" Hargett, Jr.; sisters, Claudine Sergent of Cheraw, SC, Mable Talbert of Concord; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
