Franklin Hill

Franklin Roosevelt Hill, 80, of Midland, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord . Mr. Hill was born October 22, 1932 in Stanly County to the late Pearl Hill and Bertie Coble Hill. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers, Don, John, Lowell, and Doug Hill, and a sister Dorothy Hill. Frank was a paratrooper in the US Army. He enjoyed gardening and fishing in his spare time. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 1 until 2 pm, funeral services will follow in the chapel at 2 pm, with Rev. Gerald Baucom officiating. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery. He is survived by his companion, Doris Pinion Lowder of Midland; brothers, Larry Hill, Sr., Roger Hill, and Bill Hill; sister, Evelyn Crowell. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Hill family.
