Fred Drake

Fred Ellison Drake, 94 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
Mr. Drake was born October 7, 1922 in Union County, North Carolina to the late James Fairly Drake and the late Nellie Jeanette Drake. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edith Drake and thirteen brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 23, 2016 in the fellowship hall at Philadelphia Baptist Church at 12568 Philadelphia Church Rd., Stanfield. The funeral service will be held in the church sanctuary, following the visitation, at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Dwight Mabry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include son, Rodger Fred Drake of Stanfield; and daughter, Sharon Alexander and her husband, Tommy of Marietta, Georgia.
