Gaddis Clark

Gaddis Columbus Clark, Age 89 of 20101 A Gaddis Road, Oakboro, North Carolina 28129, passed away on August 12, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 4:00 pm. Dr. Wayne Bennett will be officiating. Visitation will be from 2 pm until 4 pm at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military rites by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. All other times the family will be meeting at the home of his daughter, Joan Owen, 18505 Gaddis Road, Oakboro NC. Mr. Clark was born in Stanly County on December 12, 1920 to the late John and Lula Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife Margaret Lowder Clark in 1997; and a brother Dennis Clark. Mr. Clark is survived by his two daughters Joan Owen (Jimmie); and Jean Whitley (Bernard), all of Oakboro; two brothers, C.J. Clark of Concord, Guy Clark of Albemarle; two sisters, Estelle Barbee and Shirley Efird both of Oakboro; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, special friend, Margaret Greer; and many friends of Bill W. Mr. Clark was a veteran, serving with the US Navy during World War II. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro NC or to the charity of donor’s choice.
