Gail Martin

Gail Ruth Martin, 72, of Concord, gently returned home to Jesus on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of Hartsell Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Beaver Hammonds will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Ms. Martin was born on December 17, 1939, to the late Ollie Chilton Martin and the late Pauline Lomax Martin. Gail is survived by her son, Trent Furr of Kannapolis; daughter Trena Furr of Concord; her former husband, Jerry A. Furr of Concord; two brothers, Buck Martin of China Grove and Mike Martin of Concord. Gail was blessed with a loving family that includes a host of nieces and nephews. In her working years, she was employed by Eastern Airlines, Cabarrus Bank & Trust, Belk and Public Storage. She was always an active member of her church but as poor health continued, she was not able to attend in later years. Her passions were singing gospel music, her home, her sweet pets and her family.
