Martha "Gail" Morrison Polk, age 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Stan Polk, mother of Jeanie Dixon of Wichita, Kansas and Chad Polk of Concord, and GG to five grandchildren. Gail also had a special bond with Levi, the family dog.
Born in Midland, NC, Gail was the daughter of William Augustus "Gus" Morrison and Allene Black Morrison. She was a member of the first graduating class of Central Cabarrus High School and attended Wingate College. She was employed as a legal collection manager at Barclay's American/CIT Group, Bank of America, and United Mortgage throughout her years in the banking industry. She retired from S & S Horse Tack.
Gail was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she served in many areas. She loved singing in the choir on Sundays and performing in the Christmas and Easter cantatas. She also loved camping and riding horses with her family. She enjoyed collecting angels and Santa figurines. Putting together puzzles, solving crossword and word searches, and reading were also pastimes she enjoyed and shared with her grandchildren. She will be remembered always for her kindness, love for others, and sweet, giving nature. Her family will remember her faith and grace during a challenging illness and remember her always as their angel.
She is survived by her husband Stan Polk; daughter Jeanie Dixon (husband, Rob); son Chad Polk (wife, Kim); grandchildren Sam Dixon, Luke Dixon, Gracyn Polk, McKenna Polk, and Landon Polk; brothers Danny Morrison and Randy Morrison and sisters Peggy Love, Deanna Morrison, Jane Lands, Beth Walker, and Linda Jones.
