Gail Margaret (Mulks) Stamm peacefully went to her heavenly home on February 10, 2025 surrounded by many of her loving family. Gail was born July 25,1941 in Ithaca, NY to James Mulks and Virginia (Beam) Mulks. Gail attended Groton High School in Groton, NY where she was a cheerleader. She met her husband, Phillip Stamm, there and they were married on June 21,1958 in Groton, NY.
Gail’s two loves in her life were her family and her service to the Lord. She and Phillip had six children. She spent her life raising her family and serving as a pastor’s wife, a missionary in Belize before it became a tourist destination, and later as a secretary at Carolina College of Biblical Studies, in Fayetteville , NC, where her husband served as president. She devoted herself to ministry: leading Bible studies, counseling young women, serving as a cook on various mission trips.
Gail’s dream, as a young woman, was to be a stewardess and even though it did not become her vocation she still traveled all around the world: Thailand, the Solomon Islands, Israel, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, the UK, Mexico and South America.
Gail was an avid gardener and a lover of butterflies. She is remembered for her hunts, especially in Belize, to find the most beautiful butterflies to add to her collection. She loved to read and learn something new each day which made her diagnosis of dementia such a tragedy but she still had a smile and sense of humor even to the end.
Gail was preceded in death by her father, James Mulks; her mother, Virginia (Beam) Bixler; her sisters Diane (Mulks) Labar and Wendee June Bixler; her grandson DJ Reed and great grandson Silas Padilla; her nephews James Labar and Robert Kennedy; her son-in-law Dennis Blankenship.
Gail is survived by her husband, Phillip Stamm, of Fayetteville, NC; her children Lynne (Rich) Sivillo of Leland, NC; Lauralei (Arthur) Knight of Clover, SC; Louanne (Thomas) Stanton of Mt. Pleasant, NC; Kristi (Daren) Reed of Concord, NC; Ty (Heather) Stamm of Wilmington, NC; and Joshua (Dawn) Stamm of Forest, VA. She is also survived by her sisters Kim (Gary) VanBenSchoten and Charlee Bixler both of Groton, NY; brother Rick Bixler of Glendale, AZ; sister-in-law Mary (Stamm) Keith of Wilmington, NC and brother-in-law Karl (Patty) Stamm of Groton, NY. Gail will also be sadly missed by 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, Gail leaves behind many dear friends she has made in her lifetime of service.
Gail’s greatest desire was for all to come to a saving knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ and to live a life pleasing to Him.
