Garland (Gene) Chapman

Garland (Gene) Eugene Chapman, 86, of Concord, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Chapman was born August 1, 1933 in Kentucky to the late Rush Chapman and the late Anna Mabel Chapman. He was also preceded in death by his infant brother John Chapman.

Gene proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean war. He was the owner of Mobile Construction Company and enjoyed the challenges of the construction industry. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sorely missed.

The funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 8 at 2 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the visitation immediately following.

Survivors include wife, Carol Chapman; sons Jonathan Chapman (Abbie Lorenzo) and Joshua Chapman; grandson Rush Chapman; stepson Trey Ruff (Tessa Ruff), granddaughter Hailey Ruff and sister Cornelia Sue Day.
