Gary Haigler

Gary Lee Haigler “Doc“, 64 of Concord went to be with the Lord May 8th 2012 after a 16 year courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born in Cabarrus county to the late Harley and Violet Haigler. Also preceded in death by grandson Baby Logan. Gary served his country for 6 years in the United States Navy; He served the city of Concord for 18 years as a police officer; and as fire chief in Midland for several years. He is survived by his wife Lisa Haigler; His children Chris Haigler and wife Angie, Brian Haigler and wife Stephanie, Jason Haigler and wife Amanda, Michael Cain, Charlyn Cain and her fiancé Scott Fagerberg; His grandchildren Megan and T.J. Haigler, Sydney and Savanna Haigler; His sisters Peggy Barbee and husband David, Barbara Berry and husband Wylie, Pam Durham and husband Mel, and brother Ted Haigler. The family will receive friends and family at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on May 11th from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service will be held at Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord on May 12th at 11am officiated by Rev. Michael Waters and Rev. Darrell Coble. A very special thanks to Dr. Lovejoy, Dr. Steffons, Dr. Rackoff, the Batte Cancer Center and the oncology nurses at Northeast Medical Center.
