Gary Harvell

Gary Lester Harvell, 59, of 37083 Cooper Road, Norwood, NC passed away on June 12 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, June 15 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The service will be at 2 PM on Thursday, June 16 in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Norview Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Barbee will officiate the services. Mr. Harvell was born in Albemarle on June 7, 1952 to the late Lester Ray and Mary Inez Harvell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Mae Lunsford Harvell. Mr. Harvell is survived by his daughters, Melanie Harvell Simpson of Concord, Alicia Harvell Thompson of New London; grandchildren, Bethany, Kaleb, Joshua, Damien and River; brother, Leonard Ray Harvell of Oakboro; and sister, Linda Harvell Swaringen of Norwood.
