Gary David Kiser

Gary David Kiser, 70, of Concord, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at his home.

He was born November 2, 1953 in Hawaii to the late David Manuel Kiser and Geraldine Kiser Smith.

Gary enjoyed working and spending time with his two sons at their auto salvage and recycling businesses, City Salvage I, Inc. and Stanly Salvage as well as with his father and family in the family Christmas tree business.

He was a fisherman, antique and junk collector, storyteller and jokester. Spending time by the water with his wife, friends and family, watching races, football and old television shows were some of his favorite pastimes. Christmas was a very special time for him as visiting with customers was always a big treat. He had a great time cutting up with everyone and they loved him.

Gary was a very devoted, loving, and supportive husband, son, big brother, brother-in-law, father, and grandfather as well as uncle and great-uncle. He spoke with his sweet mama numerous times a day and looked forward to their Sunday afternoon visits. He deeply loved and respected his father and mentor, all his life, learning so much about business and everything else. Joyce was the love of his life and spent almost 50 years with her. They were together all the time, loved time at the beach, adored many pets, and especially loved laughing and playing with their grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 1pm on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Eric Shaver. Burial will take place at Bogers Chapel UMC Cemetery. 

Survivors include: mother, Geraldine Kiser Smith of Concord, NC; sons, Brian (Jennifer) Kiser of Midland, NC; Paul (Heather) Kiser of Midland, NC; grandchildren Lucy Caroline Kiser and William Case Kiser; sister Sharon Kiser Deal of Concord; niece Deana (Will) Henderson; nephew Darren (Maria) Baucom; and three great-nieces.
