Gary Ostrom

Gary Douglas Ostrom, 66 years of age, formerly of Topeka, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his home in Concord, NC. Gary was born January 20, 1947 in Fairfax, Virginia to the late Lawrence Eugene Ostrom and the late Ruth Adelia Gingerich Ostrom. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Evan Ostrom. Gary retired from the US Air Force after serving his country honorably for 20 years. He later went to work for the US Post Office until he retired in 2008. He was a faithful member of Come Alive Ministry. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Stacey Lynn Pagenkopf Ostrom of the home; daughter, Courtland Rae Ostrom of the home; son, Gary L. Ostrom of Topeka, KS; daughters, Brenda Marie Ostrom of Phoenix, AZ, Jennifer Hernandez of Topeka, KS; sister, Gwyneth Gunderson of Wheaton, IL; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Zachary, Joshua, Megan, Xavier, Madeline, Gabriella, and Ellison; and one great grandchild, Jaden William. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor William Ford officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the North Carolina Honor Guard.
