Gary Douglas Pensgen

Gary Douglas Pensgen, 77, of Concord, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus, following many months of chronic illnesses, with his loving wife of 40 years, Karen, by his side. Gary was born April 6, 1947 in Rochester, New York to the late Wallace Lynn Pensgen and the late Marjorie Jane (White) Pensgen. Following graduation from Clarkson University, Gary spent his career as a manufacturing engineer with General Electric, Black and Decker, and Pass & Seymour LeGrand. After his retirement from manufacturing, he entered into a personally rewarding second career as a compounding tech at Moose Pharmacy of Concord.

He spent many years as a volunteer as an AARP tax aide, Medicare counselor, and as a volunteer at the hospital. Gary would do anything to help anyone in need.  He enjoyed playing bridge and taking trips to the mountains and beach with his wife.

In addition to his wife, survivors include brothers Dale (Jackie), Mark (Betsey), David, and Paul (Elizabeth), in New York and New Hampshire, sister-in-law Denise (Sonny), special niece Kimberly (Marianne), and several additional nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In lieu of calling hours or flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Further arrangements will be announced at a later time.
