Gary Stroup

Gary Lamar Stroup, 61, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Gary was born January 9, 1960 in Georgia to the late James Arthur Stroup and the late Martha Whitley Stroup.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Larry Stroup.

Survivors include wife, Cheryl Wyatt Stroup of Albemarle, NC, sons, Jason (Debra) Stroup of New London, NC and Justin (Faith) Stroup, of Albemarle, NC, daughters, Roxanne and Christina Stroup, of Kannapolis, NC, grandchildren, Justin, Cameron, Kadence, Jayden, Bradley, Teagun, Bentley, Bailey, Tanner, Taylor, Ryder, Eshan, Tristian, and Riley, nieces, Dina Story and Lisa Starnes of Albemarle, NC, nephew, James Eugene Stroup, and sisters-in-law, Wendy (Todd) Quigg of Maryville, TN and Angie (Tommy) Barron of Monroe, NC.

Services for the Stroup family will be held at a later date.

Gary loved doing anything in the outdoors including, yard work, woodworking (he had his own business making picnic tables), and working in his building. He also enjoyed hunting until his wife put a stop to that. Gary also had a passion for tattoos and Harley-Davidson motorcycles for all his life. More than anything, Gary loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
