Gena Ergenbright

Gena Greene Ergenbright, 93 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Mt. Pleasant.

She was born February 17, 1922 in Anson County to the late Alexander Parker and the late Minnie Broadway Parker. She was also preceded in death by husband, Davis Warn Greene; sisters, Elizabeth Edwards, Sarah Bryant, Nina Croft, and Margaret Poplin. She worked at Kayser-Roth Hosiery and the Independent Tribune.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church in Concord officiated by Rev. Rodney Quesenberry. It will be preceded by a 30 minute state. The burial will follow at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens on Saturday.

Survivors include daughter, Shelia (Warren) Chapman of Mount Pleasant, NC; daughter, Nancy G. (Daniel "Sonny") Rogers of Concord, NC; grandsons, Randall (Beth) Chapman of Concord, NC, Alex & Isaac Chapman of Mt. Pleasant, NC, granddaughters, LeAnne (Toby) Weast of Concord, NC, and Lori (Ben) Johnson of Kannapolis, NC; great-grandchildren, Madison & Mallory Weast, Tyler & Chloe Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gena was a loving mother, always sacrificing selflessly for her family. She leaves a memory of love for her Heavenly Father & her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coltrane Life Center at 321 Corbin Ave. SE, Concord, NC 28025, or Broadus Memorial Baptist Church at 59 Green St., Concord, NC 28027.
