Geneva Eubanks

Geneva Loudivene Williams Eubanks passed away at Hospice of Union County on June 21, 2023, at the age of 85.  The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Red Cross Baptist Church of Oakboro.  Her funeral service will follow on Saturday at 2PM officiated by Rev. Jesse Herring.  Burial will follow in the Pineville City Cemetery at 209 Lowry St., Pineville, NC

Loudivene was born August 18, 1937, in Oakboro, NC.  Lou was the daughter of the late Claude Williams and Villiann Little Williams.  She graduated from Oakboro High School and went on to earn a nursing degree from Charlotte Memorial Hospital where she worked for over 30 years as an RN in the nursery in both Charlotte Memorial Hospital & Stanly Memorial Hospital.  She was a faithful member of Red Cross Baptist Church and was a friend to all.   She enjoyed spending time with the community volunteering to deliver Meal on Wheels for 20+ years after retirement from her nursing career.  She had been active with the town of Red Cross zoning committee and enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Eubanks is survived by her son Richard Gatling Eubanks III & Karen Griffin of Keystone Heights, FL. Other survivors include James Speight Sr. of Oakboro,  James E. ‘Chip’ & Amber Speight Jr. of Oakboro, Jeff & Jamie Willis of Seneca, SC, Bryan & Candra Speight of Edwardsville, IL, Lee & Annette Eubanks of Rock Hill, SC, Bill McConnell & Laura Yandell of Charlotte,  Frank & Linda Dove of Brentwood, TN, Teresa Whitmire of Seneca, SC.

Preceding Mrs. Eubanks in death in 1990 was her husband Richard Gatling Eubanks Jr. of Pineville, NC and in 2020 her daughter Alice Claudia Eubanks of Mexico Beach, FL.  Others include her sisters Gwendola Williams Willis Fowler (Kent Willis) and Anabel Speight.
