Geneva Eudy

Geneva Barbee Eudy (Johnnie), 88 years of age, of Oakboro, was called Home and into the presence of her Lord on Friday, December 4, 2015.

Johnnie was born March 18, 1927 in Oakboro, NC to the late Joseph Welton Barbee and the late Emma Hatley Barbee. Johnnie was married to JD Eudy on May 17, 1946 who preceded her in death on March 15, 1991. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Lela Whitley, Nola Whitley, Leola Smith and Gatha Whitley and brothers, MA Barbee, JT Barbee, and Billy Joe.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 3:00 PM officiated by Dr. Wayne Bennett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Robert Swain of Oakboro, sisters, Allie Whitley, Rella Huneycutt, and Ruth Teeter, brother-in-law, Hugh Eudy and wife Wanza, grandchildren, Leslie Swain, Matthew Swain and wife Courtney, and Mary Elizabeth Batten, great grandson, Macon Parker Swain, and special caregiver, Mrs. Patsy Yarbrough.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 or Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Piano Fund, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC 28129.
