Geneva Foard

Geneva Foard, age 91 of Oakboro, passed away on April 30, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, at the First Baptist Church of Oakboro, in the sanctuary, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Terrell Watts. The burial will be at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 44226 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205. At other times, the family will meet at the home of her niece, Renea Watkins, College Street, Oakboro. Mrs. Foard was born in Stanly County, on January 14, 1921, to the late Eli Thomas Drye and the late Elma Huneycutt Drye. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Francis T. Scruggs, her second husband, Boyce N. Foard and her step mother, Lena Furr Drye. She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Fuller and her husband Ralph of Beaufort, SC and Pam Burgess and her husband John of Oakboro; two step sons, Tim Tucker of Charlotte and Tom Tucker of Concord; two step daughters, Barbara Foard and Sandra Foard both of Indian Trail; a brother, Keith Drye and a sister, Bea Goodman both of Oakboro; six grandchildren, and step grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
