Geneva Jordan

Geneva Jordan, age 82, of New London, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at her home in New London. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 4:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle officiated by the Rev. Boyd Joyce. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle. She was born March 6, 1931 in Stanly County to the late Ellis Farrington Barbee and the late Victoria Crisco Barbee. She was also preceded in death by husband, Bural Jordan. Survivors include sons, Reggie Barbee of New London, NC, and Bural Jordan Jr. of Mount Holly, NC; daughter, Tonia Jefferis of Raleigh, NC; and sisters, Carolyn Eudy of Albemarle, NC, and Hazel Layton of Albemarle, NC; 5 great grandchildren, and 2-1/2 great grandchildren. She loved children and had a daycare in her home for 30 years. Memorials may be made to Palestine United Methodist Church. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Jordan family.
