Genevieve Turner

Genevieve "Gen" Turner, 88, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at Legacy Heights Senior Living Community in Charlotte, NC.

Gen was born at Tupper Lake, NY on December 11, 1932 to the late Sam Said Abdallah and the late Louise Abdallah.  She was also preceded in death her husband, Roy Turner in 2006; sisters, Jamel Bourdon of Massena, NY in 1980, and Victoria Euto of Albemarle, NC in 2020.

Gen graduated from Massena (NY) High School in 1951 and from Potsdam (NY) State Teachers College in 1955.  Gen received a Master of Science in Education Degree from Potsdam (NY) State Teachers College in 1965.

Gen taught English and Social Studies in the Syracuse, NY and Massena, NY school systems for eight years.  Thereafter, she taught Grade Four at Council Rock Elementary School in Rochester, NY for 23 years.

A graveside service to celebrate Gen's life will be at 1 pm on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC. She will be laid to rest beside her sister, Victoria Euto.

She is survived by one sister, Laura Kolny of Vancouver, British Columbia; two brothers, Joseph Abdallah of East Rochester, NY and John Abdallah of Mint Hill, NC; three nieces, Shawna Cary-Coleman of Davidson, NC, Elizabeth Ann Abdallah of San Francisco, CA and Morgan Abdallah of East Rochester, NY; and two nephew, Mark Bourdon of Malone, NY and Jeff Euto of Albemarle, NC.
