Biography George Mitchell Drye, 74 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at his home in Stanfield.
Mitchell was born December 26, 1940 in Stanly County to the late Charley Spurgeon Drye and the late Esther Springer Drye. He was also preceded in death by wife, Carolyn W. Huneycutt Drye in 2010; brothers, Ralph and Richard Drye.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, 4311 Love Mill Road, Stanfield, NC 28163. The funeral service officiated by Dr. Darrell Nance and Rev. Gene L. Hopkins will follow at 11:00 AM in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include son, Tim Drye (Kelly) of Charlotte; daughters, Kim Mullis (Mike) and Darla Furr all of Stanfield; grandchildren, Cassie Gregor, and Cody Mullis, Samantha Furr Goff, and Alexander, Grace, and Chase Drye; great grandchildren, Lexi and Jaxon Gregor; siblings, Lillie Drye Tucker, Bill Drye(Jean), Peggy Drye Honeycutt, Leonard Drye (Christine), Diane Drye Furr (Richard), and Benny Drye (Denise).
