George Hill

George Allen Hill, 83, of Concord, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

George was born December 5, 1937 in Cabarrus County to the late William Caldwell Hill, Sr. and Annie Mae Canupp Hill. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lola Jane Edwards, Ella Pauline Ferguson, Edith Fay Smith; and brother, Avery Odell Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, with Rev. Ron Helms officiating. Mr. Hill was laid to rest on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 1pm at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Freida Ann Blackwelder Hill; sons, Brent (Sandra) Hill, Terry (Anita) Hill; sisters, Janice (Robert) Macleod, Patsy (Gary) Sellers; brothers, W.C. Hill, Jr., Alvin Hill, Roy (Sue) Hill; step-granddaughter, Kelsey (Dave) Martin; and step-great grandson, Callahan Martin, Bubba (Tina) Thomas.

George was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, and retired as a truck driver from J.B. Hunt Transport Services. He was also a member of McLean Road Baptist Church for 35 years served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Sunday School Superintendent.
