George Jeffreys, Jr., 77 years of age, of Williamston, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Riverside Doctor's Hospital in Williamsburg, VA.
Mr. Jeffreys was born September 26, 1938 in Nash County to the late George Ruffin and Annie Mae Jeffreys. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and several sisters. George has always been known as a man of integrity, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love of people. He answered the call to ministry over 50 years ago and pastored 8 churches in SC and NC.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6 - 8 pm, at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 am in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Eddie and Kelly Burris. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church of Rockwell Cemetery, 8630 Hillcrest Dr. Rockwell, NC.
Survivors include: wife of 50 years, Sarah "Irene" Dennis Jeffreys of Williamston, NC; son, Hilton (Amy) Jeffreys; daughter, Hope (Chris) Lee; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kyndal and Caleb Jeffreys, and Stephen and Matthew Lee; sister, Shirley (Frances) Gupton.
