George Ledbetter

George Chauncey Ledbetter, age 84 of 1009 Avondale Avenue, Albemarle, NC 28001, passed away on August 7, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7 to 9 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at his home. The funeral will be at 11 AM with a 30 minute state on Wednesday, at First Baptist Church, Albemarle. Rev. Harold McDonald and Rev. Roger Thomas will officiate. The burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Asheville, NC. Military honors will be conducted Born in Stark County, Ohio on January 07, 1927, he was a son of the late William Glenn Ledbetter and the late Ada Sarah Catlin Ledbetter. He attended Appalachian State and the University of Tennessee. He was an account manager for GMAC and a member of First Baptist Church, Albemarle. He is survived by his wife Nancy Lee Eller Ledbetter of the home; daughters, Susan Haltom and husband Bill of Locust and Sharon Adams and husband Bobby of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Chris Adams and wife Jennifer, Melissa Adams, and Elizabeth and Emily Haltom; brothers, Marvin Ledbetter of Greenville, SC, Howard Ledbetter of Enca, NC; sisters, Bernice Savage of Apex, NC, Ruth Albertson of Southport, Florida, Helen Armstrong of Oxenhill, Maryland and Lorice Ashburn of Raeford, NC.
