George Loflin

George Michael “Mike” Loflin, age 61, of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast of Concord. Mr. Loflin was born October 26, 1950 in Stanly County to George David Loflin and the late Helen Ruth Plowman Loflin. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve David Loflin. He worked at the Kannapolis WalMart and was a member of the New London First Baptist Church. He loved to read and was always holding out hope for the Carolina Panthers. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 11, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The graveside service will begin at 4 p.m. at the New London Cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his father, George Loflin of Rockwell; his sons, Jason Loflin of Chapel Hill, Stephen Loflin of Illinois, and Travis Loflin of Kannapolis; his daughters, Kristi Widmeyer of Cameron and Jenny Loflin of Kannapolis; his sister, Pamala Austin, of Oak Island; and grandchildren, Maya Loflin and Sophia Eagle. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Loflin family.
