George Pigg

George Washington Pigg, 79 , of Concord, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home in Concord. Mr. Pigg was born February 22, 1934 in Mecklenburg County to the late Robert Lee Pigg and Minnie Bell Huneycutt Pigg. Mr Pigg faithfully attended Gethsemane Baptist Church. He retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mills in 1997 and was currently working at Coltrane Life Center, and loved to play music. The family will be meeting at 548 Bruton Drive Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 12 until 2 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the chapel, officiated by Rev. Robert Tallent. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. He is survived by his daughter, Shelia P. Walter and husband Fred of Concord; son, Jeffrey Pigg also of Concord; brother, Robert Pigg and wife Ozelle of Albemarle; sister, Jean Black and husband Charles of Concord; grandsons, Robert Jordan Walter and wife Stephanie of Gold Hill, and William Tyler Walter of Concord.
