George Schavillie

George Anthony ‘Tony’ Schavillie, 97, passed away peacefully September 14, 2017 at his current home in Concord, North Carolina. He was comforted during his last days, as he was during each of the 71 years of marriage, by his beloved wife Elizabeth.
Tony was born January 5, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to wonderful parents, the late George Schavillie (1881-1963) and Magdalena Satlek Schavillie (1884-1976). He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and Josef and sister, Eva.
The family in North Carolina held a ‘celebration of life’ dinner on Saturday, Sept 16 at the Concord home he shared with his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Diann.
The family will receive family and friends in Michigan on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 9-10am prior to a 10:00am Funeral Mass at Saint Nicholas Catholic Church on 4331 Capac Road, Capac, MI. After a short drive past the family homestead on Sharrard Road, burial will follow at West Berlin Cemetery on Holmes Road in Allenton, MI near the final resting place of his parents.
