George Williams

George Wayne Williams, 81, of Rockwell, NC passed away Friday, December 4, 2020.

George was born July 22, 1939, in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late George and Ruth Williams. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Pastor.

George graduated from East Liverpool High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.  He retired after many years as a maintenance mechanic, although his favorite pastime was woodworking.  George’s greatest treasure on earth was his 7 grandchildren; he loved spending time with his family. George was a long time member and Elder of Connect Christian Church, formerly known as Concord Christian Church.  Church was an important part of his life, and he always took the time to share his faith and help anyone in need.  It is hard to count the number of people impacted by George’s faith and love of Christ.

A private memorial service was held at Hartsell Funeral Home chapel in Concord.  George will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Survivors include beloved wife of 60 years, Lucie Smith Williams of Rockwell, NC; sons Todd Wayne Williams of Rockwell, NC; George Mark Williams and wife, Jeslyn of Midland, NC; daughter, Jodi Hunt and husband, Brad of Rockwell, NC; grandchildren, Jason, Jamie and Jacob Williams, Bradley, Andrew, Tyler and Lynsi Hunt; brother, James Williams; grand-dog, Sadie; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connect Christian Church.
