Mr. Gerald Jefferson Hartsell, 68, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at CMC University. He was born on May 1, 1942 to the late Herman Lee and Gladys Mae Lee Hartsell. He is also preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Annette Cook, formerly of Clement and brother, William "Bud" Hartsell. Mr. Hartsell was an active member of Community Baptist Church where he was an usher. He worked for Interstate Brand Company as a mixer for 27 years. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 4:00 PM, following a 30 minute state, at Community Baptist Church, Locust with Rev. Ed Grover officiating. Burial will be at Community Baptist Church cemetery in Locust. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home at, 10480 Troutman Road, Midland. He is survived by his wife Betty Sue Hagler Hartsell, of the home; son, James F. Cook, of the home; brother, Herman Lee "Junebug" Hartsell, Jr., of Stanfield; sisters, Betty Hartsell Ferguson and husband, Joe, of Stanfield, Mary Josephine Ferguson and husband, Ike, of Stanfield, Kay Hartsell Whitley, of Stanfield, and Brenda Hartsell Burris and husband, Ronnie, of Stanfield, son in law, Dan Clement, of Troutman; grandchildren, Shannon Cook, Tasha Talent, Marsha Cook, Michael Talent, and Travis Cook; and six great-grandchildren.
