Gertrude Widenhouse

Gertrude Whitley Widenhouse, 98, of Midland, NC went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2019 at St. Andrews Living Center in Concord.

Gertrude was born September 12, 1920 to the late Claude Alex Whitley and the late Fannie Caroline Eudy Whitley.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wilson Turner and husband, Coy Ernest Widenhouse; brothers Earl B. Whitley, Aubrey Whitley, Claude Whitley, Ray Whitley; sisters Mildred Whitley Smith, Pauline Whitley Miller and Bessie Whitley Duggins.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Turner Simpson and husband Jim; grandsons John Robert Simpson and wife Mary, Jimmy Paul Simpson; granddaughter Myra Simpson Dehais and husband John; three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and sister Rena Whitley Kluttz and husband Harry.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday, August 12, 2019 at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Rev. Gary Morris.  Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephens Wesleyan Church, 7601 Brusharbor Rd., Concord, NC 28025.
