Ginsin Little

June 17, 1967 — December 13, 2012

Ginsin Cord Little, 45, of Concord, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends At Sharon Baptist Church 2628 Shady Lane Avenue Kannapolis on Monday, December 17, from 5 until 7 pm, followed by a memorial service from 7 to 8 pm, with Dr. Strickland officiating. He is survived by his loving wife, Ranea Sloan Little. He died a month shy of their three-year wedding anniversary. Born on June 17, 1967, to the late Dewey Wayne and Lana Ray Sloop Little, he was the loving and proud father to 11 year-year-old Hunter Cord Little of Bowling Green, Fla. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for deer hunting and fishing. He mounted his own trophies as well as those of friends and family. He fought his illness to the end-a week before his death he could be found in his yard skinning a deer his brother-in-law brought over. He frequently left his sick bed in the last weeks of his life for the meditative peacefulness of his deer stand, and even bagged a small buck in November. He had a sharp wit and delightful sense of humor, and kept friends and family laughing as he faced his illness head-on. Friends say Ginsin was good at any hobby or work he undertook. Last deer season, he bagged two bucks back-to-back, while fighting cancer and with only one good eye. “We called him Superman,” said a friend. He was a landscaper for Tesh-Troxler, and loved to design patios, walkways, walls and other landscape features. He was an ace at horseshoes, corn-hole, bowling and even Wii bowling. Whatever he put his mind to, he gave 100 percent. He loved to compete and loved to win. He was a people-person who had a host of friends. He loved to entertain, throw parties, get-togethers, cook-outs- - any excuse to have people over for a good time. In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by a stepson, Aaron Gibbs of Charlotte; and siblings, Marcie Raquel Little, Monica Little Crayton, and Scott Wayne Little. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County 5003 Hospice Lane Kannapolis, NC 28081. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kelly of Cabarrus Family Medicine, Mount Pleasant, and Hospice nurse Jennifer Carroll, for the kind and faithful care they bestowed on Ginsin. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Little family. Online condolences may be made at www.hartsellfh.com.
