Glenn Whicker Neal, Sr., 82 years of age, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.
Glenn was born July 24, 1933 in Cabarrus County to the late Charlie Walker Neal and the late Shelby Pauline Bundy Neal. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. Michael Waters, Rev. Bo Sherrill, and son, Wic Neal. The burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis with military honors by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margaret Rosetta Carter Neal of the home; daughters, Glenda Stenbuck and husband Peter of Apex, Janet Troutman of Concord, Paula Spry and husband David of China Grove; son, Glenn "Wic" Neal, Jr. and wife Beth of Mount Pleasant; brothers, Lucian Neal of Winston-Salem and wife Robie, twin brother, Guy Neal of Concord;13 grandchildren, Rachel, Rose, Blaine, Blair and wife Erin, Brittany, Blake, Tyler, Taylor and husband Price, Tia, Toby, Truman"Harry", Trevor, Timothy, and great-grandchild, River Joy.
Glenn honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He retired from the US Postal Service, and was a faithful member of Parkwood Baptist Church.
