Glenda Sumerel

Mrs. Glenda Darlene Bowling Sumerel, 59, of 3805 Solen Drive Harrisburg, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. Born on August 4, 1950 in Wake County to the late Ralph Otis Bowling and Kathleen Dale Pierce Bowling whom survives. Mrs. Sumerel graduated from UNCC School of Nursing with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Mrs. Sumerel was a Registered Nurse with Bayada Nurses and Quality Healthcare. She was also a member of Rocky River Community Church. A visitation will be held at Covenant Church in Harrisburg, NC on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 12 Noon until 1 PM. Funeral services will be held at Covenant Church on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 1 PM, with the Rev. Jimmy Britt and the Rev. David Hicks. Survived by: husband, DeLane Sumerel of the home; son, Andrew Nathan Sumerel of Wilmington; daughter, Rebecca Toms and husband Travis of Forest City; mother, Kathleen Bowling of Harrisburg; grandson, Nathan Reid Toms, and grandson, Colton Brady Toms to be born in January.
