Glenn Goldsmith, 60, of Midland, NC passed away November 5, 2011 at his home. Glenn left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father. Glenn was a wonderful husband, loving father, and great man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Glenn was employed with Duke Energy for 39 years. He loved the outdoors and you would always find him out working in his yard. Glenn was a member of Arlington Baptist Church in Mint Hill, NC. Glenn cherished the many years that he taught the pre-school children in Sunday School. Glenn was a devoted “Carolina” fan. Glenn is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Marsha Hartsell Goldsmith, his wife of 27 years; daughters Lisa Mitchem of Gastonia, NC; Autumn Goldsmith of Greensboro, NC; a son, Cory Goldsmith of Midland; his parents, Robert and Ruth Goldsmith of Hendersonville, NC; brothers, Earl Goldsmith and wife Patricia of Ranlo, NC; Mike Goldsmith of Hendersonville, NC; sister, Tracey Thomas and husband Bo of Balsam Grove, NC; grandsons; Doug, Daniel, and Aaron Mitchem; as well as nieces and nephews. Glenn also leaves behind a wonderful mother-in-law, Peggy Hartsell of Oakboro, NC; a sister-in-law Lora Huneycutt and husband Maurice of Oakboro, NC; a brother-in-law, Mark Hartsell and wife Lisa of Stanfield, NC; as well as nieces and nephew. A service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 2:00pm at Arlington Baptist Church with The Reverend Steve Gandy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 7, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, NC from 6 – 8 pm. The family request no flowers, memorials may be made to Arlington Baptist Church, 9801 Arlington Church Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227 or an on-line donation can be made to Caringbridge.org. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Goldsmith family.
