Glennie Baucom

Glennie B. Kiker Baucom, 91 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her home.

Glennie was born May 14, 1924 in Stanly County to the late Johncie Edward Kiker and the late Mary Magglene Tucker Kiker. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Roy Lee Baucom; son, Boyce A. Baucom; four brothers; and five sisters.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Todd Galloway, will follow at 3:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. The burial will be at Centerview Baptist Church Cemetery, 508 Northeast Connector, Albemarle. At other times, the family will be meeting at her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Smith and husband Wayne of Albemarle; son, Johnny Lee Baucom, Sr. and wife Trish of Kannapolis; sister, Martha K. Hinson of Monroe; four grandchildren, Johnny Lee Baucom, Jr. and wife Lori, Kevin Wayne Smith, and Lori Ann Baucom, all of Albemarle, and Melissa B. Kemp and husband Tom of Barton, NY; and eight great-grandchildren.

Glennie was educated in Union County, and later retired from Wiscassett Mills after 42 years of service. She was a dedicated member of Centerview Baptist Church for 62 years.
