Gloria Silipigni

Gloria Sylvia Mazza Silipigni passed away the morning of February 23, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.

She was born on October 20, 1931 in Beaver Falls, PA and was the daughter of the late Ernesto Rosario Mazza and Angelina Rosa Iorfida Mazza.

Gloria graduated from Beaver Falls High School and worked at General Materials in Baden, PA.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph “Peps” Silipigni. Gloria is survived by three children - Lynn Silipigni Connaway (Jim) of Grand Junction, CO, Joe Silipigni (Wanda) of Charlotte, NC, and Bonnie Silipigni-Eudy (Patrick) of Midland, NC and six grandchildren - Matthew, Malayna, Christiana, Adam, Jack, and Isabella; siblings, Santi Victor Mazza (Esther) and Linda Mazza Giannini (Ed); and many nieces and nephews. She married Roy Wheeler in 2011.

A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, in the chapel, in Charlotte. Visitation at the church will be held from 10:00am until 10:50am. A eulogy will follow at 10:50am. The Mass will begin at 11:00am.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at St. Cecilia Church, 632 Virginia Avenue, Rochester, Pennsylvania. Visitation at the church will be held from 9:00am until 9:45am. The Mass will begin at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Angels, 6600 Wilkinson Blvd., Belmont, NC 28012 or a charity of your choice.
