Gloria Catherine “Cathy” Nance Wallace, Age 74 of 123 E. 2nd Street, Oakboro, NC, 28129 passed away on November 18, 2009 at her home in Oakboro. Born in Cerro Gordo, NC, on February 14, 1935 to the late Willie Otto Nance and Carolyn Susie Smith Nance.Gloria Nance Wallace was also preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Wallace, Jr and sister Carolyn Ann Nance. She is survived by her daughter Deborah Lynn Wallace Huneycutt and husband David of Oakboro and son Marty Dean Wallace and wife Lori of Huntersville, and son Rodney Dale Wallace and wife Joy of Albemarle. She is also survived by her sisters, Sue Nance Phillips and husband, John A. of Morganton, NC, and Deanne Nance Fowler and husband, Frankie of Whiteville, NC and grandchildren Robbie and Brian Huneycutt of Oakboro, Jennifer Huneycutt Cauthen of Germany, Tiffany Wallace Honeycutt of Oakboro, Jerry and Ashley Wallace of Oakboro, Forrest Johnson of Albemarle and Brandon Wallace of Albemarle. She has three great grandchildren as well: Camren Huneycutt, Madison Honeycutt and Kayden Huneycutt. Her nieces are Donna Ward Walden of Wilmington, NC, Paulette Ross and Ann Angelina of Florida and Brenda Culbreth of Fayetteville, NC. Her nephews are Jerry Nelson of Texas, Danny Nelson of Fayetteville, NC and Wayne Collins of Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a retired District Sales Manager for Avon Products, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home, Friday, November 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service will be held Saturday, November 21 at 10:00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler’s Memorial Chapel Albemarle. Rev. Bill Baldwin from Harvest Church will officiate. Internment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Chadbourn, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
