Grace Ford

Grace Lee Braswell Ford, 91, went to be Home with Jesus on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Andrews Living Center, where she resided. She was born on June 15, 1919 in Union County to the late Hiram and Bessie Braswell. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, September 2 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 3 at Pine Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 am with the Rev. James Smith, Rev. Donald Lisk, and Rev. Ray Rippey officiating. The body wil lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be meeting at the daughter’s home, Susie Beach in Harrisburg. Grace retired from Cannon mills and was a charter member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Clayton Ford; sister, Beulah Braswell Godfrey; and a grandson, Chad Beach. She is survived by her daughters, Frances Becky Chapman, of Midland, NC and Susie Beach and husband, Bill, of Harrisburg, NC; granddaughters, Lisa Smith and Tina Simmons; sister, Jean Braswell Hatley, of Concord, NC; six great granddaughters; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Andrews Living Center and Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for the special love and care of our Mother; along with the special care, comfort, and support to our Family in the final days.
