Gwendolyn Pittman

Gwendolyn Pittman was born on November 3, 1941 in Enfield North Carolina. She passed away on 10/22/2020 at the Transitional Care Nursing Home in Kannapolis NC.  She graduated from West Side High School in Newark New Jersey. She was a Teacher’s Aide in Durham City Schools for many years until her early retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cary Pittman Jr and Margaret Drake.

She survived by her daughter, Beth Lopez, her son in law Luis Lopez, her grandchildren Ruben Lopez and Laura Lopez of Charlotte North Carolina. She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Gloria Brown of Mechanicsville, VA, her brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. Cary Pittman Jr. of Delaware and brothers, Mr. Ronald C. Pittman of Richmond, VA and Mr. Anthony Pittman of Willingboro, NJ along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to any of the Sickle Cell Disease Associations in the United State.
