Hal Morgan

Hal “Buck” Clayton Morgan, age 76, of Locust, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at CMC NorthEast, Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Stanfield Cemetery. Rev. Tony Creel will officiate. At other times the family will meet at his home. Born April 18, 1936 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Lonnie Morgan and the late Pearl Brooks Morgan. Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Sills Morgan of the home; children, Kathey Phillips and husband Gerald of Burnsville, NC, Bucky Morgan and Billy Morgan of Spruce Pine, NC, Scott Poplin and wife Pat of Locust, NC, Cathy Poplin of Locust, NC, and Donny Poplin of Mt. Gilead; 2 sisters, Judith Honeycutt of Locust, NC and Jackie Furr Beeker of Stanfield, NC; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and all his friends at Twin Harbor Campground. He was a delivery manager for Sears in Concord and a Shriners Club Member. He was of the Baptist faith. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 W. Faris Street,Greenville, SC 29605.
