Dr. Harold James "Jim" Reimer, 75 years of age, of Harrisburg, NC went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at home with his family by his side.
Jim was born February 16, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Harold David Reimer and the late Ernestine Reimer.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Kathie Reimer; son, James "Mark" Reimer and wife Nichole; daughter, Elisabeth "Lisa" Reimer Whittle and husband Scott; daughter, Jenifer Nicole Reimer; brother, Jerry Reimer and wife Shelley; brother, Robert Reimer and wife Sharon; sister, Marsha Reimer Peterson and husband Gene; sister, Jane Reimer Liberator and husband Wade; grandchildren Graham Whittle, Micah Whittle, Shae Whittle, Lukas Reimer, Cade Reimer, Allison Reimer and Troy Heston.
Jim served God faithfully over the years as pastor of ten churches in eight states. Later, because of his extensive experience in church leadership, he acted as a church growth consultant with John Maxwell's Injoy Ministries, and the Oklahoma Baptist Convention. Because of his life-long love of the outdoors and wildlife, Jim established the Sportsmen's Outreach Ministry Events (S.O.M.E. Ministries) to reach men and their families for Christ. His achievements include the Evangelism Leading Church Awards, Missouri Baptist Convention, Dictionary of International Biography Volume XV, Evangelism Pace Setter Award - Oklahoma Baptist Convention, Who's Who in Religion in America, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Master Key Award given by the faculty of California Baptist University for Outstanding Contribution to Campus Life, Ministerial Alliance President, Trustee for Midwestern Seminary, SE Seminary and SW University, Bolivar, MD.
In spite of all his accomplishments, his relationship with Jesus Christ and his deep love for each member of his family, brought him the greatest joy.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at West Cabarrus Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will then follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg, NC.
