Harold "Bud" Dwight Honbarger, 84, of Concord, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Bud was born May 24, 1934 in Concord to the late John and Beulah Honbarger. He was also preceded in death by beloved wife of 54 years, Gertrude Benton Honbarger; sisters, Helen Swenson, Connie Wright and Edna Earl Simmons; and granddaughter, Lesli Nicole Hooper.
Bud worked at Cannon Mills for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and going to the beach. He was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
Survivors include daughter, Judy (Danny) Jung of Concord; daughter, Wanda (Joe) Hines of Irmo, SC; daughter, Barbara (Joe McIntyre) Hooper of North Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Rodney (Connie) Honbarger; grandchildren, Jon (Jessica) and Brandon Jung, and Wendy, Peter and Brad Hines; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Kirsten and Kinsley Jung.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. Family members will meet at the home of Judy and Danny Jung in Concord.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation or Cabarrus County Hospice.
