Harriet Hartel

Harriet Lucy Hartel, 75, of Shelby, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 in Shelby. Mrs. Hartel was born November 30, 1938 in Trenton, NJ to the late James and Pearl Thurman. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Louis Hartel, Sr. and a sister, Theresa Pisamo. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 10:00am until 11:00am. The funeral service will follow at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord at 11:00am. She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Hartel and Karlene Hartel both of Shely, NC; a son, Louis Hartel, Jr. and wife Dorothy of Lambertville, NJ; and a sister, Betty Ferri of Polkville, NC. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
