Harriette Jones Brooks, 87, of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully with family by her side
Sunday, March 22, 2020 in the care of West Florida Hospital - Hospice Covenant Care.
Harriette was born to the late William Thomas Jones and the late Ruth Preston, July 21, 1932 in
Newnan, GA. Preceded in death were husband Charles F. Brooks, sibling's Thomas Jones,
Bobbi Myers, Frankie Russell, Daisy Morris, John Jones, Mary Jo Adams and Alice Weiss,
children Anthony Emory, Renada Emory and Delana Emory and grandson Jeramy Coleman.
She is survived by son Marshall Seymore, daughter-in-law Thomassene, son Alan Adams,
daughter-in-law Deanna and daughter Victorine Burris, son-in-law Michael. Stepsons Michael
Brooks and Robert Brooks. Grandchildren are Christopher Seymore, Lauren Seymore, Sean
Seymore, Wensdy Yeargin, Taylor Adams, Jessica Adams and Christin Burris.
Great-Grandchildren are Parker Cassell and Desi Coleman.
After retiring from Cabarrus County Department of Social Services in 1994 as a typist, she
volunteered at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital now known as Atrium Health Care. She was a
member of Friendship Southern Baptist Church in Concord, NC. Often her co-worker's would
comment "You always know when she is around because you can hear her laughter". Even
when she wasn't well she would joke around just to make the other person feel good. Her
favorite things in life were her children, grandchildren, Nascar racing and last but not least her
Clemson Tigers. She would say "My Blood Runneth Orange".
Viewing ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 from 12 - 12:45 pm with a 1:00 pm service following at the Hartsell Funeral Home in Harrisburg, NC.
