Harvey Marshall Kidd Jr. went to be with his Lord Monday night at 8:30 on March 4th, 2013. He was 84 years old. Harvey was the son of Harvey and Ernestine Kidd. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris McIntyre Kidd and four children, Deborah Hope Mazzamouri, Kristy Faith Keistler and husband Randy, Harvey Marshall Kidd III and wife Ida, Toni Love Deal and husband and Eric. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Wendy Besette and husband Mason, Catherine Field and husband Scott, Terry chandler and husband Brian, Patrick Keistler, Jamie Smith and wife Melissa, Jake Kidd, Houston Sims Deal, Mariah Kidd and three great grandchildren Kaylee Field, Zachary Field, and Reece Chandler. Harvey retired from the Charlotte Observer and worked for the Charlotte Weekly for several years. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed his games with Carl Settle. Harvey was well known in the Charlotte area for his officiating in sports for over 50 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 70 years. A celebration of Harvey’s life will be held at Unity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis on Sunday, March 17th, 2013 at 3:00. The pastor Tim Whittington will lead the service. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the youth program at Unity United Methodist Church, 8605 Unity Church Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081, or to any organization you prefer.
