Hassie Tucker

Hassie Bell Cook Tucker, 93 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. Hassie was born February 19, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late George Manless Cook and the late Lola Mae Little Cook. She was also preceded in death in 1992 by her husband of 53 years, Grover Duncan Tucker; son, Kenneth Wayne Tucker; daughter, Helen Tucker Lowder; sisters, Lucy and Sally Troutman, Mary Garmon and Grace Cabe and brother, George M.Cook, Jr. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Todd Galloway and Rev. Jessie Dennis will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Centerview Baptist Church. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was a member of Centerview Baptist Church and was active as long as her health permitted. She was employed by Federal Pacific for 40 years. She is survived by daughter, Brenda Ann Tucker (Floyd) Shaver of New London; two sisters, Mildred Honeycutt of Locust and Janie Joyner of Concord; brother Roy Cook of San Diego CA; three grandchildren, Becky East of Mocksville and Kenneth Lowder of Albemarle and Sherry Oliver (Mark) of Florence, SC; two great grandchildren, Samantha Thomas and Tyler McPherson.
