Hazel Burris

Hazel Pauline Almond Burris, 90 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Hazel was born January 7, 1924 in Stanly County to the late Harris Lee Almond and the late Clona Gertrude Hahn Almond. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Craven Burris in 1998; and daughter, Roveta Annette Blackman, and infant daughter, Tamria Charlene Burris; brothers, Bernice Guy Almond, Elbert Almond, Cecil Almond, and Donald Almond; and sister, Agnes Hall.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Don Crusenberry. The burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, NC 28129.

She is survived by son, Ivan D. Burris and wife, Deborah of Albemarle; daughter, Nelda Elaine Wagner and husband Steve of Cornelius; six grandchildren, Shauna and Stacey Burris, TJ Allen and wife Julie, Jon Paul Allen and wife Adrienne, Scott Allen and wife Amy, and Stefanie Kipp and husband Eric; five great-grandchildren, Turner and Ragan Kipp, and Connor, Logan, and Michael Allen; brother, Hoyett Almond of Kinston; and sister, Aileen Williamson of Whiteville.
