Mrs. Claudia Hazeline Baldwin Drye, 90, of Concord passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. Born on September 9, 1919 in Cabarrus County to the late Lemuel Byrd Baldwin and the late Lucille Page Baldwin. Also preceded in death by her husband Floyd Hugh Drye whom she was married to for 66 years, sisters Muriel Ruth Baldwin and Nell B. Cohen, brothers Lemuel Byrd Baldwin, Jr. and Jesse B. Baldwin. Mrs. Drye was a member of Wil Mar Park Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on various committees. She retired from Cannon Mills Plant #5 as a spinner. She was a volunteer at the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Wednesday, January, 20, 2010 from 1 until 2 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 2 PM, with the Rev. Steve Davis, and Mr. Jim Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Drye Griffith and husband James O. Griffith of Concord; granddaughter, Amy Melia Griffith of Concord; great-grandson, Lance Hugh Mahon of Concord; sister, Agnes B. Starnes of Concord; and a number of nieces and nephews.
